'Timeline' (PG-13) (out of four)
There's no mystery or imagination to be found in "Timeline" -- a fantasy adventure from "Jurassic Park" writer Michael Crichton and "Lethal Weapon" director Richard Donner.
The film focuses on modern-day archaeology students (Paul Walker, Frances O'Connor and Gerald Butler among them) who travel back to the 14th century to rescue a colleague, but get stuck in a bow-and-arrow battle between the evil British and the kindly French.

A character-driven piece, "The Missing" is the story of a strong-willed frontier woman reunited with her estranged father during a time of crisis."

From "The Andromeda Strain" (microbes are scary!) to "Westworld" (robots are scary!) to "Jurassic Park" (cloned dinosaurs are scary!) to "Airframe" (flying in airplanes is scary!"
